What’s a soundscape, anyway? 

In some circles, a soundscape is called an acoustic environment, but for this project, I will define a soundscape as the human perception of the sounds of a given environment. 

Background

As someone with sound sensitivity challenges, I am acutely aware of my auditory surrounding. Even as I write this sentence, I am listening to my playlist of coffee shop sounds to focus.

While guest lecturing at A Place Beyond, a college campus quarantined in nature during COVID-19, I helped the students create their soundscape with sounds from settings like this climbing trip.
